Where to build the altar?
1 Sam 7:17 - At your house, in your family(The Family Altar)
2 Kin 21:4 - At your church(Our church experience must be brand new)
Is 19:19 - In the midst of Egypt(In the midst of all our troubles too)
What should we do?
2 kin 11:18 - Destroy other altars in your life
Lev 10:1 - Don’t offer things that God does not like, at the altar. “Strange” fire- unauthorized, profane things
Lev 3:16 - Burn the ‘fat’. Fat is the reserve of the body. The extra portion of our meals are stored as fat. The storehouse/reserves. It’s the prosperity part. Burn the best part of your life and all your possessions and savings for the Lord and for the work of the Lord. Fat could be the extra money you have, extra time you have, extra energy you have. Burn it for God and in God’s presence.
What should we offer in this altar?
—> Rom 12:1 - ourselves as ‘Living’ sacrifices, when all parts of us is living and not when it is dead or disabled.
In this time of the year ending, build the broken altars, break down the other altars we’ve built for ourselves or for others, and offer ourselves at the altar.
