1 Chron 9:27
NKJV - And they lodged all around the house of God because
[a]they had the responsibility, and
[b]they were in charge of opening it every morning.
NIV - They would spend the night stationed around the house of God, because
[a]they had to guard it; and
[b]they had charge of the key for opening it each morning.
They were “responsible”. They had 2 responsibilities.
1. Guard the treasury and the chambers
2. Open the doors every morning
If you were a Museum keeper, you would have to keep everything safe and secure. If we are opening that place to public(others to enter in), how careful we ought to keep things.
Also they open doors every day(they had the keys). They had the responsibility to open the doors every morning. We too have the responsibility to open the doors and means for our friends colleagues and others to know Jesus(to enter the Temple).
So, when did they do it?
They did it every day. Every morning. This should be our prayer every morning. God help me to be
- responsible the way you want me to and to safeguard all the gifts, salvation, peace and The Holy Spirit you have given me
- responsible and open doors for people to enter into your Kingdom and to know You
If the nation is heading day by day towards wickedness, if your friends and colleagues are not yet saved, if you have lost the salvation or the gifts or the Anointing, it is your responsibility. God expects us to be responsible.
And what is the way to achieve this?
“They lodged around be house of God. They would spend the night stationed around the house of God”. We ought to spend more time in God’s presence. We must stay close and In the presence of God if we’ve gotta be the Responsible people that God requires us to be.
Let’s be responsible. Let’s leave out our “not my work” attitude and stand in the Gap. Let’s take the burden/yoke of Jesus upon us and pray and intercede for our friends, nation and missionaries.
